Mobile Apps & Custom Software
Off-the-shelf software makes you change your business to suit it. Sometimes that is fine. When it is not, we build the thing that fits — an app for your customers, or the internal system that takes the repetitive work off your team.
What this covers
They need different thinking, so it is worth separating them before anyone starts estimating.
Ordering, booking, loyalty, tracking, memberships. This lives on a phone, it has to work on a poor connection, and it has to be simple enough that a first-time user never needs instructions.
We build for Android, for iOS, and for the web. Where it makes sense we build once and run everywhere, which is usually faster and cheaper than two separate apps. Where the app genuinely needs deep access to the device, we build natively and tell you why it costs more.
This is the quieter half, and often the more valuable one. Job sheets, inventory, scheduling, quotations, approvals, reporting — the work currently held together by a spreadsheet, a notebook and somebody’s memory.
The goal is never to build something impressive. It is to remove the twenty minutes a day that four people each waste, and to stop the mistakes that happen when the same number is typed into three places.
Most useful software is not new software — it is joining up what you already have. Your website talking to your accounts package. Your bookings appearing in your calendar. Your enquiries landing in WhatsApp. Often the honest answer to “we need an app” is “you need these three things connected”, and it costs a fraction as much.
We check whether something existing already does the job. If a product you can subscribe to for a few thousand rupees a month solves your problem, we will tell you that, even though it means a smaller project for us. Custom software is worth it when the fit genuinely matters — not by default.
What you get
What exists at the end of the project, in every case.
Tested on real devices, not only a simulator. Published to the Play Store or the App Store under your own developer account, so it is yours.
In a repository you own, with the history intact. You are never locked to us. If you take it to another firm, everything they need is there.
How it works, how to use it, and what to do when something looks wrong. Written for your team, not for an engineer.
Monitoring, fixes, operating system updates and small changes as your business changes. Monthly, optional and cancellable at any time.
How we price it
Software is the area where fixed prices most often go wrong, so we split it.
| Option | Price in India | Outside India |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery & Design Understand the problem properly and draw every screen. Ends with a firm price for the build. | ₹1,10,000 Fixed price | $2,500 |
| Internal Business Software The system that replaces the spreadsheet, the notebook and somebody’s memory. | ₹4,50,000 From | $10,000 |
| Mobile App, first version A real, published app for your customers — Android, iOS, or both. | ₹6,75,000 From | $15,000 |
Prices exclude GST. Every one is a fixed price against a written scope — it does not move unless you ask for something that was not in it. See everything we charge, and what each option includes →
We usually quote the first stage — understanding the problem properly and designing the screens — as a small fixed price on its own. At the end of it you have designs and a firm price for the build, and you are free to stop there or take it to somebody else. That is deliberate. It means you are never asked to commit a large sum to something nobody has drawn yet.
The build itself is then a fixed price against those designs, delivered in stages you can see each week.
What makes software cost more: the number of different kinds of user, payments, offline working, and anything that has to connect to a system somebody else controls. What we will always tell you: when an existing product would do the job for a fraction of the price.Who this is for
You will probably recognise at least two of these:
Honestly
If a spreadsheet is genuinely working for you, keep it. We have talked more than one person out of building software they did not need. The point at which it stops working is usually obvious — and if you are unsure, that is a good thing to spend a free half hour on.
Common questions
It depends on who your customers are, and we will look at that with you rather than guessing. Building once and running on both is usually the sensible starting point, and you can always add a fully native version later if the app earns it.
You do, completely, in a repository in your name. We do not keep leverage over clients. If you want to move to another firm, everything they need is already yours.
Usually yes. Most systems can be connected if they offer any kind of interface, and a great deal of what we do is joining up things that already exist rather than replacing them.
There are three separate things: the app store developer accounts, which are paid directly by you to Apple and Google; hosting for whatever sits behind the app; and optional support from us. We set all three out clearly in the proposal so there are no surprises in month two.
